I am a practicing veterinarian with 13 years of experience in dermatology. I have 3 cats and 4 dogs now. As an experienced pet parent, I know well how to give health support to pets.

Let's work together to effectively solve various skin problems such as mange, dermatitis, allergies, hair loss, and scabbing through home remedies.

Mnage, Dermatitis, Hair loss, Allergies, Hot spots, etc. are the most common skin diseases in cats, and it is really troublesome when cats are infected with skin diseases. usually followed by redness, inflammation, itchiness, papules (pimples), damaged skin, abscesses, ulcers, festering sores, suppuration, scabies, fur shedding or hair loss, and other symptoms. Some pet parents didn’t take skin disease seriously and didn’t consider it a disease but a problem easy to get rid of. Many people don't pay much attention to the harm of skin disease in cats. However, if left untreated, it may pose a threat to pets’ lives in serious cases.

Common skin diseases in cats and dogs are mainly caused by fungi, mites, bacteria, parasites, allergies, etc. In addition, physical damage, chemical irritants, humid environment, getting wet in bathing or in the rain without immediate drying, weakened immunity, lack of bathing for a long time, vitamin deficiency and other factors can also be the reasons for skin issues. The common skin diseases in cats and dogs are mainly classified into bacterial, fungal, allergic, and parasitic skin diseases and tinea, etc. Although skin disease will not cause death in most cases, it’s very annoying and recurrent, and the healing process may be long and persistent. In addition, skin diseases can be contagious, which will bother your pets physically and mentally, and even be possibly passed on human, specifically the pet parents. For this reason, we should pay more attention to our pets’ skin health.

What are the common skin diseases in pets?

Symptoms of fungal skin disease (contagious):

Mange is one of the most common skin infections caused by fungi. It typically affects the ears, face, chest, limbs, tail, and back. If your pet contracts mange, their fur may turn rough and dull. In some cases, allergic papules (rice-sized rashes) can appear, and the infected areas will be intensely itchy, with fur prone to falling out, breaking, and forming crusts.

Symptoms of bacterial skin disease (contagious):

Cats and dogs scratch their skin and lick, thereby leading to skin redness, ulcers and festering sores, damaged skin and suppuration, etc., accompanied by folliculitis, or chapped skin.

Symptoms of parasitic skin disease (contagious):

The skin infection caused by Demodex mites is the most common disease but difficult to treat among other parasitic skin diseases. This parasitic worm is usually hereditary, and in the early stage, it will cause hair loss, itching and infection on a small area of skin. Once infected, damaged skin area may cover the whole body, and there may be dandruff and scabs in severe cases. (It is generally caused by fleas, itch mites, Demodex mites, ear mites, lice, ticks, etc.)

Symptoms of allergic dermatitis:

Flea and parasite allergic dermatitis are the most common. They can cause severe itching in cats, leading them to scratch their skin, which results in skin abrasions or bleeding, severe discomfort, or hair loss. Sometimes, the wounds may become complicated by fungal and bacterial infections, causing the infected area to expand.

Symptoms of inflammatory skin disease:

Dogs and cats will constantly scratch and rub their bodies because the infected area is itchy, which will cause damage to the skin and lead to further keratinization of the dermis of skin. It leads to multiple alopecia areata areas with redness, large area of hair loss, blackening skin, scabs, seborrhoeic dermatitis, paronychia, etc.

In addition to providing immediate relief from the itch, the spray also provides long-lasting protection against bacterial and fungal infections, helping to maintain healthy skin. We feel more at ease after each use.

Great hot spot spray

My dog has been dealing with stubborn hotspots for weeks but nothing seems to help. After using this treatment a few times, I have noticed a big improvement in redness and irritation. This formula is gentle and effective, and I'm so glad I found it.

Recommend

I don't usually write reviews, but I have to say that this product really helped my cat's itch! For the past month, she has been battling skin problems and constantly licking herself. After using this shampoo last night, I can already see the difference. She licked herself very little today, slept soundly, and seemed much happier. I recommend it!

Just What I Needed.

We’ve been using it for about a week now, and it seems to really help with the itching. We've noticed less irritation and scratching. So far, everything’s going smoothly, and we’re really satisfied with the results.

Works well

This really helped ease my dog's hot spots. Whenever she gets that awful itch, she actually goes over and sniffs the bottle! She even stayed still and let us spray the spots, which is super unusual for her! She loved it, and we all got a better night's sleep since she didn’t scratch at all.

Amazing Product

My dog has a skin disease. After spending a lot of money on various veterinarian-approved shampoos that didn't work, I came across this highly rated shampoo and decided to give it a try. After just one bath, I noticed that his itching was noticeably lessened. The shampoo doesn't have any unpleasant smell and his fur looks really shiny now.

A few weeks ago, I found a hard lump on my cat's back, and it seemed infected and scabbed. I bought the Puainta Spray and Shampoo, and applied on my cat and kept using for a week. And it just works well and my cat is healthy now.

I used the products and wrote this comment. Previously, I took my cat back to my hometown, and the environment was quite humid, which possibly led to skin disease in my cat. Its body emits a foul odor, and itching in the affected areas leads to its constant scratching and biting, causing hair loss and even broken skin in some areas. Upon returning to my home in the city, I purchased Puainta Quantum Silver Spray and Banov Shampoo . I will apply a spray daily and give regular baths to my cat. Gradually, its skin condition improved. Plant-based shampoo bath has a pleasant fragrance and isn’t irritating to the nose. Overall, the products work wonders for my cat’s skin problems!

My little boy had terrible skin. He’s itching a lot and had rashes. And worse still, he was infected with ringworm, and there was a round spot on hie back, accompanied by hair shedding. I bought Puainta Spray and Shampoo as recommended by my friends. I sprayed it on his affected area. He kept using these products several times a day. They do work! New hair has grown back in the infected area. He’s getting better and I’m so glad.
